A servant is not greater than his master. So how do some people, who do nothing but wait for the Mahdi, expect the Muslim Ummah to obey the Mahdi, when they haven’t even sorted obeying Allah yet?

Unity, mercy, thinking, knowledge and understanding are all obligations set upon us by Allah (swt). If we Muslims don’t learn to do these for the sake of Allah (swt), I doubt will learn to do these for the sake of a human being (i.e. the Mahdi).

As for establishing justice on the earth and defending the Muslims from neo-colonial powers – I doubt even if the mahdi was a military genius, could he compete with drones, 5th generation jet fighters, cruise missiles and depleted-uranium armoured tanks. A workman is only as good as his tools.

For those who truly wish to help the Mahdi, start by obeying Allah (swt), establishing political unity, mercy, thinking, knowledge and understanding. And through those things, we develop our industry, scientific research, economy and military, and then, and only then, will the Mahdi have the ‘right people’ behind him, and the ‘right tools’, to fulfil his destiny.

The only question is, are you helping the Mahdi, or merely one of those who ‘wait’?

‘Have you not thought about the group of the Children of Israel after (the time of) Musa (Moses)? When they said to a Prophet of theirs, “Appoint for us a king and we will fight in Allah’s Way.” He said, “Would you then refrain from fighting, if fighting was prescribed for you?” They said, “Why should we not fight in Allah’s Way while we have been driven out of our homes and our children (families have been taken as captives)?” But when fighting was ordered for them, they turned away, all except a few of them. And Allah is All-Aware of the wrong-doers’.
